One reason is many people begin smoking at a young age and are foolish. Other reasons are that they just do not care about the effects and the other complications smoking bring. Moreover, this information is not readily made available to the public unless it is specifically looked for or researched.
What if the person did call or ask the tobacco companies or the makers and manufactures of the cigarettes what would the answers to the questions be.
Would the companies tell the person that smoking is highly addictive? Once the person begins, smoking it is extremely difficult to quit it is highly doubtful. On the other hand, would they tell the person about the fact that there are many different chemicals added to the tobacco?
How about the results or the effect the chemicals have on the person once the chemicals are inhaled into the persons lungs. Would the tobacco companies tell the person that some of these chemicals are ingredients also found in poisons?
Alternatively, that smoking and does cause birth defects in babies of the women who smoke while pregnant moreover complications during the pregnancy, or cause the babies to be born addicted to nicotine. In addition, smoking reduces and contaminates breast milk increasing the chances of more illness in babies and infants in babies that do not receive colostrums from the breast milk.
Would the tobacco companies tell people that possibly some time in the future smokers would become dependent on oxygen? Smokers even develop cancer, bronchitis, asthma, and other life threatening diseases. All of which require multiple Doctors visits, hospital stays, x-rays, tests, even surgeries.
Moreover, that smoking stains teeth, and breaks down tooth enamel increasing chances of smoker developing bad teeth or rotting, and breathe. After years of smoking, the smoker will need dentures, or have complications and pain from the bad condition of the teeth.
What About the effect of the smokers’ second hand smoke and the danger it is to the smokers loved ones family members and children or spouse. If the tobacco companies when asked these questions and answered them truthfully the world would have less smokers, and less people with illnesses from the complications and effects of smoking. Any one of these things or a combination of all these things would surely make a potential smoker stop and think before trying or beginning to smoke if the companies would have told them.
Medical and dental expenses add up quickly and the cost only continues to raise not decrease the cost of funeral, and burial expenses also rise and not decrease. Therefore, it would be wise to ask the tobacco companies and the manufactures of the cigarettes questions the same as a person would when trying another product or service.
