<p>Try to make a perfect plan for quitting smoking cigarettes and choose a quitting date. Share your plan to everyone you know and try to tell them that you are going to quit and on what day. This action will make your will power stronger and also encourage you to keep your word. Therefore, it is recommended that, try to gather as much support as you can. Try to convince your spouse or partner or a friend to quit with you, by joining a support group online or find someone in your area.<br />Nobody smokes because they think it&#8217;s good for them. Starting this is not a decision made at a rational level. It&#8217;s a decision made at an emotional level. However, maintaining a habit is more often than not a subconscious process. For this very reason quitting smoking is a process which is most easily achieved by using hypnosis a method that accesses the subconscious directly. Like many hypnotists I&#8217;ve been helping people quit this for years. Personally I smoked 30 a day until I quit, so I know exactly what it&#8217;s about. I also know a few other things.<br />Many smokers realize the need to quit smoking. However, they often stop at one question. How to do it? There are many right ways, which help to stop from this. It needs proper planning and right attitude on the part of smoker, who wishes to stop this. You should keep in mind some basic things before they start this treatment. The treatment may take very long time if smokers do not implement right strategies. The key challenges include making a firm decision about quitting this habit, setting a fixed date, following a plan, dealing with withdrawal symptoms, and staying smoke free.<br />Firstly, it&#8217;s pointless replacing cigarette smoking with a gum, patch or other source of nicotine. An addiction is an addiction, regardless of the source. If you are going to deal with the addiction you have to take it with courage and deal with it head on. While some addictions are best handled with a weaning process, cigarettes are not in this category.<br />Secondly, ending this habit is more likely to be successful when you put everything possible in place to succeed. This means a high protein diet, a full breakfast and an exercise regime that is simple, with achievable goals that can be maintained for at least two weeks after smoking ceases. If it happens to be maintained longer, even better.<br />Visualizing yourself living tobacco free, seeing yourself without that first cigarette of the day, and seeing yourself enjoying a quiet drink on your deck, free of any tobacco products, is a positive and affirming process. Establishing an expectation of success, and establishing control over all possible conditions that can help achieve your goal bring you closer.<br />Finally, hypnosis to assure a motivated approach to end this habit, and remove the original triggers of this habit. This is key, as stopping yourself restarting&#8217; smoking is the final challenge, and the one most people struggle most with.</p>

<p>Here are a few tips you can put into place starting today that should help you lay a firm foundation for not only quitting, but also kicking the smoking habit once and for all.</p>
<p>1) Remove all tobacco products, ashtrays and lighters from your home, your car and your workplace. This will substantially reduce your urge to smoke as you will be eliminating one of the most obvious triggers to have a cigarette. Simply seeing them will make you want one. Remember the old adage, &#8216;out of sight, out of mind&#8217;.</p>
<p>2) Don&#8217;t give into the urge to smoke &#8216;just one&#8217;. Once you have one, you are on a slippery slope to revert back to your old ways. Find other ways of dealing with stress, like taking a short walk, surfing your favorite website, or even just calling up a friend or family member for support.</p>
<p>3) Speaking of friends and family, be sure to tell all of them your goal to quit smoking. It is important that they support you in your efforts; they can really talk you through the tough times when you need it.</p>
<p>4) Many people report tremendous success with nicotine patches and gum. While they can be expensive, they do work to constantly curb your desire to have a cigarette. These secret helpers can give you the boost you need during stressful moments where you simply cannot get away for a walk or phone a friend or family member. Reportedly, gum and patches work equally well. It&#8217;s a matter of preference which one you may choose.</p>
<p>5) If you want more immediate results, consider scheduling an appointment with an acupuncturist or a hypnotist. These are very effective and lasting methods. If you find you are struggling to quit smoking, consider including these methods with your other efforts at the very start.</p>

<p>If you ask anyone who has spent a long time smoking, they will tell you they feel it is very difficult if not impossible to quit smoking without help. These tips on stopping smoking can get you on the path to kicking the smoking habit fast. Try one or all of them and be sure to start now.</p>
<p>You may already know what causes you to want smoke a cigarette. If you know what triggers your habit, you can expect to kick the habit much faster and permanently.</p>
<p>1. Make a promise to yourself that you are going to quit. Also, let everyone know you are quitting. Set yourself up for success by being accountable.</p>
<p>2. Remove all tobacco products, ashtrays, and cigarette lighters from your living spaces at home and at work. Be sure to rearrange furniture in your home if it represents a temptation. Move that comfy chair you always sit in to partake of a cigarette and you will remove a lot of unnecessary temptation to smoke.</p>
<p>3. You should know that certain people, places and situations can tempt you to smoke; even when you don&#8217;t really want to. Old habits die hard, so avoid unnecessary tempting situations.</p>
<p>4. It may sound unbelievable, but even when we are on track to quit smoking we can be derailed by our own thoughts. Don&#8217;t convince yourself you need a cigarette because of a stressful situation like a bad day at work. Do everything to recognize when you are about to go off the path to kicking the habit.</p>
<p>5. Above all, kicking the smoking habit is best fought at the mental level. Support your own efforts by becoming better informed about how to kick the habit. Try surfing the internet for free information or consider purchasing a self help program that will help you quit with a defined plan of action.</p>
<p>Often times when we are presented with so many options, we can suffer from analysis paralysis. Don&#8217;t let that happen to you. No matter which of the tips you decide to pursue, just be sure to get started as soon as possible. Take small steps if necessary and everything will fall into place. <p>As someone who was addicted to cigarettes for nearly 20 years and has only recently managed to quit smoking I know from first hand experience how hard to is to drop the cancer sticks. For those of you who is struggling with nicotine addiction it can be hard to find the best way to quit smoking so I’ve listed a few <strong>quit smoking</strong> tips that might give you the motivation you need to stub out the habit.</p>
<p>Tip 1: Decide to quit smoking on a specific day</p>
<p>Setting a date in the near future when you intend to quit smoking makes your task so much easier by making your plans more concrete and therefore less easy to break. Choose a day which isn’t too far off as you don’t want to lose motivation. Telling everyone you know the date you have set will also help you quit smoking for good as you won’t want to let them down.</p>
<p>Tip 2: Live a healthier lifestyle</p>
<p>Smoking cigarettes becomes part of a lifestyle which usually doesn’t have many healthy aspects. Make the effort to improve my physical condition by eating a healthier diet and exercising will cause you to become less interested in smoking. Start off with something simple like taking a long walk each day and have a salad for lunch and you really feel the benefits of your new nicotine free life.</p>
<p>Tip 3: Stay away from the situations which used to cause you to smoke</p>
<p>I used to have great trouble resisting cigarettes when I went to the pub so when I decided to quit smoking for good I stayed away from the pub for a couple of months. Not an easy decision to make by any means but the price paid was definitely worth it. I suggest that if you want to quit you try staying away from pubs and other social situations where you can quit thinking about cigarettes until you feel like you are truly a non-smoker. If you usually take cigarette breaks at work find something else to do for a few minutes to take your mind of cigarettes.</p>
<p>Tip 4: If you are really struggling use an electronic cigarette to satisfy your cravings</p>
<p>I used an electronic cigarette when quitting smoking and it definitely did me a lot of good. <strong>Electronic cigarettes</strong> allow you to quit smoking tobacco immediately without worrying about the consequences of nicotine withdrawal, thus removing the dread you might feel when considering a life without cigarettes. Not everyone loves electronic cigarettes but they are definitely worth a shot if you are desperate to give up.</p>

<p>It would be difficult to believe that there would be anyone in the world today who is not aware of the dangers of smoking. There is so much media attention on the subject plus anyone can just see what heavy smoking does to a person. Whether you are a person who is a smoker or a friend of smoker, you will probably be interested to know that you can quit smoking today. But first, what is the most important prerequisite to quitting smoking? You have to want it. If you don&#8217;t want to quit smoking then you will only try to make an attempt to please others but it will not work. The desire to quit smoking must come from within. For example, there have been stories of some who when they saw another with emphysema caused by smoking it scared them so much that they quit.</p>
<p>Nicotine in tobacco is highly – addictive. Even the habit itself is addictive. For many smokers a cigarette is associated with relaxing, calming nerves, keeping your weight low, and taking a break. Many soldiers in the U.S. Army who were non-smokers complained that the smokers were able to take more breaks during training so they could smoke. In fact, if you are a non-smoker and work in an office building it can get rather irritating to see your friends be able to go outside and take a smoke break. They are only supposed to smoke one but end up smoking two or three while outside and overextend their break time.</p>
<p>If you have made the move to quit smoking or if you are advising a friend on how to quit smoking then here are some tips you need to know. Some might want to use nicotine patches to help them but remember that the smokers will have to wean themselves off of the nicotine eventually. </p>
<p>For the smoker, set a date as to when to stop smoking. If you tell others about it then you will have a sense of accountability to them to follow through with what you said. On that day, you need to make sure all of your cigarettes are gone and you will not light up. During this time, you need to get yourself a support group. Tell people who you know are going to support you and not criticize you in your adventure. This is important because in just a short time you will become very irritable and you will need understanding and supporting friends and family around you.</p>
<p>When you quit, you are going to feel very short-tempered, sleepy, hungry, and a little lazy. All you can do is stay with it because if you back down now, you&#8217;ll have to go through it the next time you quit. When you feel the urge to smoke, chew some gum. The nicotine patches help to curb this craving tremendously but beware that when you do get off the nicotine patches, you will have to go through the pain as well. This is why it is especially important to tell family members that you are quitting because when you get cranky (and you will) they will at least understand you.</p>
<p>And lastly, if you cannot make it and smoke again, don&#8217;t worry about it. Just try to quit again. Most smokers never quit the first time. You will gain some weight after you quit but remember that a little weight usually does not kill someone but smoking more than likely will.</p>

<p> You know the panicky feeling you get when you think of never smoking another cigarette. You understand the feeling of nervousness, and the other things that come along with trying to kick this addiction. Although it&#8217;s difficult and requires a strong will, you can quit.</p>
<p> Cigarette smoking is the number one preventable cause of death in the United States. It is also the top cause of cancer. In fact, around 80% of cancer cases can be attributed to smoking. It is responsible for 20% of cancer deaths. The bad thing is that a lot of people continue to smoke, knowing these things.</p>
<p> Smoking can be blamed for cases of cancer of the mouth, bladder, cervix, lungs, kidneys and many others. People have to suffer with these things daily around the world, and most express the regret that they continued to smoke for so long.</p>
<p> Smoking contributes to the risk of stroke, heart attack and many other chronic diseases. It also increases our &#8216;bad cholesterol&#8217; levels. In pregnant women, smoking can cause a child to be born early, or with low birth weight. It can even cause birth defects or deformities. Research points to cigarette smoke as a possible factor in SIDS or sudden infant death syndrome.</p>
<p> One of the most terrible things about smoking is what the second-hand smoke can do to those around you, or even perfect strangers. People who breathe smoke that is in the air from another person&#8217;s cigarette can experience adverse effects as well.</p>
<p> It can cause lung cancer, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema and many other chronic illnesses. This can be a tragedy for the children who breathe the smoke that comes from your cigarettes at home.</p>

Nicotine addiction is a powerful thing, and when you go without a cigarette for a while, you may notice withdrawal symptoms.
