Smoking: Ill effects on your body, and  ways to quit smoking

On every packet of cigarette, the government has made it mandatory to put a sign,â?? Cigarette smoking id injurious to health. Lets find out how, the effect it has on he body and why it is beneficial to all to quit smoking.

Every year hundreds of thousands of people around the world die from diseases caused by smokingSmoking KILLS. The mixture of nicotine and carbon monoxide in each cigarette you smoke temporarily increases your heart rate and blood pressure, straining your heart and blood vessels. This can cause heart attacks and stroke. It slows your blood flow, cutting off oxygen to your feet and hands. Some smokers end up having their limbs amputated. Tar coats your lungs like soot in a chimney and causes cancer. Smoking causes disease and is a slow way to die. The strain of smoking effects on the body often causes years of suffering. Emphysema is an illness that slowly rots your lungs. People with emphysema often get bronchitis again and again, and suffer lung and heart failure.Lung cancer from smoking is caused by the tar in tobacco smoke. Men who smoke are ten times more likely to die from lung cancer than non-smokers. Women who smoke take longer to conceive and are more likely to have a miscarriage.Babies born to mothers who smoked in pregnancy are more likely to be premature, stillborn or die shortly after birth. A baby exposed to tobacco smoke has a higher risk of dying from cot death.Children whose parents smoke are more likely to get pneumonia and bronchitis in their first year of life, to suffer from more frequent and more severe asthma attacks and to become regular smokers themselves.

It causes problems related to heart, lung, Mouth and throat, Esophagus, brain, circulation, intestine, stomach, bladder,

You may be surprised to know that Tobacco smoke contains over 4,000 different chemicals. At least 50 are known carcinogens (cause cancer in humans) and many are poisonous. Some examples are as follows:

Benzene (petrol additive): It is a known carcinogen and is associated with leukaemia.

Formaldehyde (embalming fluid): Known to cause cancer, respiratory, skin and gastrointestinal problems.

Ammonia (toilet cleaner), Acetone (nail polish remover), Carbon Monoxide (CO) (car exhaust fumes), Arsenic (rat poison), Hydrogen Cyanide (gas chamber poison)

Tar :P articulate matter drawn into lungs when you inhale on a lighted cigarette. Once inhaled, smoke condenses and about 70 per cent of the tar in the smoke is deposited in the smoker’s lungs.

Nicotine (insecticide/addictive drug):One of the most addictive substances known to man, a powerful and fast-acting medical and non-medical poison. This is the chemical which causes addiction.( Source: Health Education Authority (UK) â?? Lifesaver)

The benefits when you quit smoking, on your health, finances and confidence can motivate you to stop and stay stopped. Within just 20 minutes of quitting the healing process begins.

Hereâ??s how the process takes place

20 min., Blood pressure and pulse return to normal.

8 hrs, Nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in blood reduce by half. Oxygen levels return to normal.

24 hrs, Carbon monoxide will be eliminated from the body. Lungs start to clear out mucous and other smoking debris.

48 hrs, There is no nicotine left in the body. Ability to taste and smell is greatly improved.

72 hrs, Breathing becomes easier. Bronchial tubes begin to relax and energy levels increase.

2-12 weeks, Circulation improves.

3 – 9 months, Coughs, wheezing and breathing problems improve as lung functions are increased by up to 10%.

5 yrs., Risk of heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker.

10 yrs., Risk of lung cancer falls to about half that of a smoker. Risk of heart attack falls to the same as someone who has never smoked.

It is beneficial for all concerned to quit this habbit that is seriously dangerous to health. There are many ways to help smokers quit smoking. One is hypnosis, taking drugs, joining groups etc. auto suggestions are also a helpful solution. The following auto-suggestion is given to emphasis the point. Say it 15 times in a day and thrice every morning and evening.

â??I am living my life harmoniously and peacefully. I love my family and myself. My health and fitness is my priority . when ever I smoke a cigarette, I feel foul smell coming out of  it and my taste for it goes away completely. The smoke coming out of the cigarette look like small ants and holding it is unbearable. I am in the position to give up smoking completely and my health is becoming better and better as a result. I keep myself involved in my family, work and hobbies. I love my life and live it meaningfully. All positive things and people are coming my way and helping me quit smokingâ?

If you are a smoker and have always wanted to quit, then your sub-conscious is offering you a way to do so. Grab the opportunity and you will reap huge benefits from it. If you know someone who smokes, then you are a chosen medium to help that person.

I am a handwriting analyst, not a doctor, and the material I have written is after going through lots of material. The auto-suggestion is a mind power technique where we get our subconscious to work for us. It is a well known and well tried subject, cost free and has done wonders for people who have followed it. Hope you can gain out of this article.

It is only you who can make a difference in your life. Live it beautifully and with meaning. When you know that something is not suiting you, you must change it. Smoking is a habbit that suits non. It is high time you give it up, for your health, body, familyâ??s sake. Most importantly Your Sake!!

                                                                                                            Regards,

We have all heard of the risks associated with smoking cigarettes, but what are the risks of cigar smoking?  Are the risks of smoking cigars just as dangerous, or more so?  According to the National Cancer Instituted, regular cigar smoking can result in a major health threat.  Scientific research has linked cigar smoking with cancers of the larynx, lungs, esophagus, and oral cavity.  Newer research also indicates that cigar smoking may be strongly linked to the development of cancer in the pancreas.  Doctors also caution that individuals who regularly inhale while enjoying a cigar are also at greater risk of developing lung disease and heart problems.

The health threats of cigar smoking appear to increase dramatically in those individuals who smoke regularly and inhale while smoking.  Someone who smokes three to four cigars each day will him or herself at eight times the risk of developing some kind of oral cancer than a nonsmoker.  Unfortunately, we do not yet know the health risks of smoking the occasional cigar.  It seems clear however that smoking cigars on a daily basis can pose serious health risks.

Many individuals wonder if cigars are as addictive as cigarettes. Many wonder why, for instance, so many people become addicted to cigarettes, and not cigars?  The truth is that any tobacco product can become addictive because it contains nicotine.  Witness the effects of smokeless tobacco products on individuals.  These products, such as chewing tobacco, can become very addictive, simply because they contain tobacco, which in turn contains nicotine.  Many cigar smokers do not inhale deeply, thus causing the nicotine to be inhaled superficially.  Cigarette smokers tend to inhale, causing the nicotine to be absorbed faster and more readily by the lungs.  Even though most cigar smokers inhale the nicotine more superficially, it is still possible to become addicted if the user smokes cigars on a regular basis.

If nicotine is so addictive, why don’t more cigar smokers smoke more often?  It appears that more people avoid becoming ‘hooked’ on cigars for several reasons.  The most obvious reason is that the nicotine is inhaled much more superficially than in regular cigarette smoking, causing less nicotine to be absorbed by the body.  Also, cigars are not as readily accessible as cigarettes.  They are viewed by most as a luxury item, saved for special occasions and used infrequently.  However, when cigars are smoked on a regular basis, they can become addictive.  The health risks of any kind of smoking increase dramatically as frequency of use increases.

A lot of us, regardless of whether we smoke or not, are aware of the risks that smokers take and the effects that smoking has on a person’s health, especially the long-term ones. Still, a lot of people choose to ignore these warnings, some procrastinate and constantly say they’ll stop when they’re ready.

I’m a smoker myself and the nearest I’ve come to quitting smoking is after I’ve seen images of a pair of lungs of a chain smoker who died of lung cancer at the age of 80-something. Honestly, many smokers try to avoid issues related to their own health wherever they can. Others, though, admit to being worried about their health but are simply too uninspired or lack the determination to actively quit smoking.

One of the more serious risks of smoking is that of developing emphysema. Unlike some cancers which can be treated and eliminated if detected very early, emphysema is irreversible and can only be slowed down but not stopped. Emphysema patients experience shortness of breath even and especially when lying down, chronic coughing, fatigue, and sometimes weight loss.

The occasional “Smoking can cause lung cancer” slogan doesn’t usually alarm smokers, probably because the statement isn’t visual enough, making it not all too threatening. Now try to picture your lungs looking like a pair of lumps made of burnt coal. This is probably the major and primary effect smoking can have on your body. Your lungs will deteriorate more and more until you show symptoms of lung cancer, namely recurring coughs (sometimes even chronic bronchitis), difficulty swallowing, shortness of breath, and loss of appetite. Once you experience these, then it’s probably too late and you’re already in an advanced stage of lung cancer. Since lung cancer cannot be detected in its early stages, you won’t notice anything until the tumor has spread to other parts of your body.

But it’s not just lung cancer that is a major threat to your health. Smoking can also cause cancers of the mouth, the larynx (Ever seen one of those people who talk like robots because they use a special kind of microphone?), esophagus, and a few others. Inhaling the harmful substances in cigarettes may also contribute to the development of kidney, stomach, and cervix cancers.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not nicotine that is dangerous to the body but tar, which contains thousands of chemicals, many of which are known to cause cancer. Some of them are cyanide (yes, you’ve heard that word in connection with poisoning before), benzene (yes, benzene is used to make pesticides, napalm and explosives), formaldehyde (yes, formaldehyde is used in the embalming process of dead people), methanol, acetylene (a form of fuel… yes, fuel), and ammonia.

Other short-term effects of smoking are, of course, yellow teeth, yellow nails and fingertips and weakened abilities to smell and taste. These aren’t as grave as the diseases you can get from smoking, but should be just as disturbing.

Finally, it is notable that one-third of Americans who die of cancers have tobacco use to blame for their deaths.

Smoking kills! What more damaging effect do you want? A majority of smokers will frankly admit that they wish to give up smoking and somewhere in the past they had given up. But there is also a stubborn tribe of smokers who are not at all willing to admit the harmful effects of smoking!

Enter a conversation:

Sir Winston Churchill (the late former Prime Minister of Great Britain) was a chain smoker of cigars, lived up to the age of 85 years!

‘If he had not smoked, he would have lived up to 120 years,’ said the anti-smoking lobby. ‘What is the use of his living up to that age?’ said the smoking lobby! Die hard habits! Die hard arguments!

Who gains from your smoking, except the Finance Minister? In every budget, he tries to crush you, and the smoker is just not bothered! He cries for a while, only to forget everything soon. The smokers as well as the industry thrive!

Statistically speaking, it is scientifically proven that tobacco smoke contains over 4000 poisonous chemicals. The number and varieties of cancer it generates is in hundreds. Smoking damages practically every part of the human body, and heart takes the maximum pounding! Want proof? Count the number of ever-increasing cancer hospitals. Treating cancer has become a large-scale industry!

Just five decades ago, heart attacks used to be a rare phenomenon! The mixture of nicotine and carbon dioxide increases the rate of blood pressure and strains all parts of the body, the heart to be specific. How long can the heart tolerate this unbearable pressure? And one day, when it says that ‘enough is enough’, the well-wishers of that human being, summon the ambulance and take him to the most unwanted place— the hospital!

To some hard-smokers, living death awaits at the far end of life! Smoking initially reduces and at a later stage cuts off oxygen supply to hands and limbs and the smokers will have to live through the agony of their limbs amputated!

The long puffs that a smoker takes and the attractive, designer coils that he sends in the air, may look attractive, but what about self-inflicted damage is his action leading to? Tar in the cigarette coats your lungs like soot in a chimney and sends a cordial invitation to cancer! You drag the puff deeper into your lungs for the joy and adventure of it, and the rotting process of the heart starts!

Smoking is a slow way to die, there is no other alternative or option. It is a well known fact that heart diseases and strokes are very common among the smokers. Smoking’s contribution to heart attacks is maximum! To lung cancers too!

Are you happy or sorry? A foundation stone is being laid for a new cancer hospital!

Is there an easy way to stop smoking? Unfortunately no. The biggest thing in your favor if you want to stop smoking is a sincere desire to stop, right now, quit smoking, kick the habit once and for all. Like with alcohol addiction, your sincere and real desire to quit smoking is going to be the biggest single factor in your favor, and the best asset in your court to kick the habit.

Perhaps you have already tried to quit smoking and were unsuccessful. By far, the most difficult way to quit is to go cold turkey. Some people can do it this way, but the unfortunate fact is that the ones who are most successful with this approach did so because their doctor told them they were going to die if they did not stop, and putting that fear in them was the catalyst to ensure their success.

But you want to stop smoking before you get to that point, LONG before you get to that point. Let’s assume that you already know the widely publicized dangers of smoking, why it is not good for you, and the innumerable reasons why you should quit. The difficult part of putting all of that knowledge into positive actions.

Everybody is different, and just because a particular method worked for Joe or Sally does not mean anything as far as how well it will work for you. Some people have reported a lot of success with using acupuncture combined with more traditional approaches to stop smoking. This can be particularly effective if you want to quit but simply lack the willpower to make it happen. This approach seems to work best for people who are heavily addicted to the high that nicotine provides, combined with (again) that sincere desire to quit.

Other people have found great success in nicotine gum or the patch. This provides the nicotine high that your body is craving but allows you to reduce the amount of nicotine slowly so that your body can become accustomed to lower amounts of nicotine without getting into the dreaded withdrawal symptoms. The problem with nicotine is that smokers become both physically as well as psychologically addicted to it, and using nicotine gum and the patch can help wean you off nicotine slowly and comfortably.

Others have found that hypnosis can help them kick the habit. The methods of hypnosis to stop smoking are quite varied, but the bottom line is that the suggestion is put into your mind that smoking is bad, disgusting and unattractive, and when you come out of the hypnosis session, your body thinks that your negative view towards tobacco products is entirely self-generated.

There is not a single fool-proof method that is guaranteed to work for all people, simply because everybody is different. But the bottom line is that you already know that you should and need to stop smoking, and the actions required to achieve that goal are entirely in your hands. Take the gift of life seriously and kick the habit today! There are a ton of methods available, but your own desire to quite for good is going to be your best asset to getting there.

The multi-national tobacco companies should continue to receive the utter scorn of the worlds population as science has revealed their product and practices border on the criminal. Without going into to much detail take a look at what happens from the production of cigarettes through to the toxic chemical created and released by the burning process and maybe you will begin to understand what the act of smoking is actually doing to your body.

Taking it one step further, consider what the effects of smoking during pregnancy are on both the mother and the child. The effects range from mild to very extreme. Also, the effects of smoking during pregnancy, has negative repercussions not only on the baby but has continual implications through childhood and possibly into adulthood.

Complications in the Mother

The complications that they mother may experience because of the effects of smoking during pregnancy are as follows:

1. The mother can be hospitalized due to excessive vomiting.
2. Develop urinary tract infections,
3. Have an ectopic pregnancy, which is when the fertilized egg does not grow in the correct place.
4. The placenta can separate from the uterine wall before delivery or there can be too much amniotic fluid.

These complications can occur both during pregnancy and delivery.

Since the effects of smoking during pregnancy can cause the mother to have a miscarriage or a stillbirth, psychological problems, such as depression, can arise. Finally, death of the mother can occur due to hemorrhage during childbirth.

Complications in the Child

The effects of smoking during pregnancy on a child can be assigned into four categories. The four categories are:

1. Size of the baby,
2. , genetic abnormalities,
3. illnesses possibly developed later in childhood,
4. death.

The size of the newborn is greatly altered due to smoking for two reasons.

1. Preterm delivery.
2. Size is altered because rather than nutrients crossing the placenta, chemicals such as nicotine and carbon monoxide reach the baby. Without the nutrients, the baby is thus often underweight, which increase his or her chances of becoming ill.

The effects of smoking during pregnancy can also cause genetic abnormalities, Such as cleft lip and cleft palate. Also, bowel problems can be experienced. Other abnormalities can occur in sensory systems such as the eyes and ears. More severe consequences are also seen. These include spinal cord problems, cerebral palsy, and mental retardation.

Consider your actions very carefully, do you want to risk the health of your unborn child?

Consequences can also develop later in childhood.

In early childhood, respiratory problems, such as asthma, can be seen. Also, behavior disorders often develop in toddlers. The worst consequence of the effects of smoking during pregnancy is sudden infant death syndrome, which is also known as SIDS.

The consequences can be seen in adolescents, which include increased likelihood of smoking themselves.

The effects of smoking during pregnancy is a major issue that women, men, parents, and children have to deal with. The effects of smoking during pregnancy have far reaching repercussions for the mother, fetus, baby, toddler child and adolescent I hope that all parents to be take this information on board and act accordingly with the wellbeing of their newborn in mind.

The rosy picture of cigarette commercials is a far cry from the grim reality that smoking brings. Rather than help you cope with the complexities of modern living, smoking brings many people closer to the grave.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said adult male smokers lose an average of 13.2 years of life while female smokers lose 14.5 years of life.

How much damage smoking does to your body depends on the type of tobacco, the form it is smoked, the temperature it is burned, the length of time you have been smoking and your general state of health. Experts say cigarette smoking is the most dangerous form and every cigarette you smoke shortens your life.

Cigarette smokers are twice as likely to die before middle age and the average smoker aged 35 has a life expectancy five and a half years shorter than a non-smoker. In many cases, these deaths are caused by cancer.

“Cigarette smoking accounts for at least 30 percent of all cancer deaths. It is a major cause of cancers of the lung, larynx (voice box), oral cavity, pharynx (throat), esophagus (swallowing tube connected to the stomach), and bladder, and it contributes to the development of cancers of the pancreas, cervix, kidney, stomach, and also some leukemias,” according to the American Cancer Society (ACS).

“Smoking is responsible for about 87 percent of lung cancer deaths. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women, and is one of the most difficult cancers to treat. Lung cancer is a disease that can in many cases be prevented. Groups that promote non-smoking as part of their religion, such as Mormons and Seventh-day Adventists, have much lower rates of lung cancer and other smoking-related cancers,” it added.

Aside from lung cancer, smoking damages the cardiovascular, respiratory and digestive systems of the body. The irritating substances found in a cigarette can disturb the bronchial passages and fill the lungs with mucus.

Normally, glands in the interior lining of the lungs constantly produce mucus. Together with dirt and bacteria, the mucus is expelled from the lungs by the action of cilia or small hair-like projections.

Inhaled smoke, however, interferes with the action of cilia and stimulates mucus production. Because of this, mucus, tar and other bacteria are trapped in the lungs. Smoker’s cough is a sign that the lungs are clogged with mucus and coughing is the body’s attempt to get rid of tar and phlegm.

Bacteria in the lungs can later lead to bronchitis (the Inflammation of the bronchial tubes) or emphysema in which the air passages of the lungs are enlarged. This makes breathing difficult and can damage the heart. Atherosclerosis (the hardening of the arteries) and thrombosis (the formation of blood clots) are common in smokers because the level of fatty acids and cholesterol in the blood is raised.

In the fourth part of this series, we’ll tackle the other harmful effects of smoking. Don’t miss it! To strengthen your body, take Immunitril – your first line of defense in maintaining a healthy immune system. For details, visit http://www.bodestore.com/immunitril.html.

Smoking Can Prime the Brain for Later Addiction

An article entitled “Adolescent Smokers Have A Greater Risk Of Developing Alcohol-use Disorders Than Nonsmokers” by Richard A. Grucza, and Kevin W. Chen revealed research findings that are problematic at best. Perhaps the most disturbing was this: research suggests that smoking “primes” the brain for later addiction to alcohol and perhaps other drugs. When added to the following statistic, this information is very disconcerting: alcohol and smoking, when considered independently or in combination, account for more than 20 percent of the annual fatalities in the United States.

Alcohol-Use Disorders

It is common knowledge that many people started smoking and drinking when they were teenagers. According to research findings, moreover, smokers, especially adolescent smokers, unmistakably have a greater susceptibility to alcohol-use disorders (AUDs) than do non-smokers. Therefore, the earlier a person starts to smoke, the more vulnerable he or she may be to subsequent alcohol abuse, alcoholism, alcohol intoxication, and alcohol withdrawal.

Can Teens Quit Smoking Anytime They Choose?

Approximately 25 years ago I had a job as a child-care worker and worked with emotionally handicapped teens. I remember some of the older patients who were allowed to smoke tell me that they could quit smoking anytime they made up their mind to do so. My response to them, even then, was that this may in fact be true, but the longer they smoke the stronger the habit will become. At some point, moreover, the habit will be so compelling that quitting smoking will be extremely difficult. The point: many teenagers who start smoking see this as “no big deal.” Based on the current research, however, they couldn’t be more incorrect.

A Blueprint for Disease and Devastation

If smoking does in fact “prime” the brain for addiction to alcohol and potentially other drugs later in life, what are the consequences? Basically this: teens who smoke, no matter how “innocent” the intent, may be inadvertently constructing and following a blueprint that leads to the misery, broken relationships, financial ruin, psychological problems, and the physical diseases that are characteristic of long-tern drug and alcohol abuse.

Fifty to Eighty Percent of Alcoholics Smoke

According to another article entitled “Long-term Tobacco Use Associated With Dulled Thinking And Lower IQ, Study Finds,” researchers at the University of Michigan found that both smoking and alcoholism result in diminished thinking ability. The Michigan researchers also discovered that 50 to 80% of alcoholics smoke. If 50 to 80 percent of alcoholics smoke, and both smoking and alcoholism negatively impact the brain’s higher functions, then most alcoholics are doing a double whammy on their mental proficiency. Pardon the pun, but this is a sobering thought, especially when teens and young adults are the ones who are doing the smoking and the drinking.

Conclusion

Let us keep in mind that for all intents and purposes every addict starts out as an occasional user who has made an intentional and conscious decision to involve himself or herself with a specific substance or activity. As time goes by and as the person continues to partake of the substance or activity, however, the person makes a transition from being a voluntary to a compulsive user. As a result, and in conjunction with the findings from the two studies outlined above, people, especially our youth, need to be educated and made aware of the risks and devastation than can result from smoking, alcohol abuse, and alcoholism.

It always is a wonder to me how people find smoking fascinating. I always thought it was more than that. There are reasons that people throw at me and some of them, no matter how sensible they think it is; doesn’t seem to appeal to my interest. Thus, I’ve never smoked a stick in my entire life and I’m proud to say it. I know for a fact that smoking is never good to a person’s body but I never think ill of people who smoke. Just because a person smokes, doesn’t mean that there is nothing good about them any longer.

A better way to let these people know that they are special as everyone else is to help them quit their smoking habit. Smoking is never healthy for anybody. Even the companies that manufacture cigarettes and tobaccos still give emphasis through a disclaimer that smoking is never good for anyone’s health. To set the record straight, smoking develops later on to a serious lung disease called lung cancer. If this doesn’t alarm any bell, nothing will and smoking will never be removed from your system.

Being addicted to smoking has negative effects already to your body, how more so, the act of smoking itself? The two are different, in a way that being addicted to smoking is already the after effect of it and yet, being addicted to it still has its own sub-categories of disadvantages. As for the act of smoking, it leads to ailments that are purely caused by the act itself.

If you value your health while you are young, you will never have to worry about any regrets in your later years. Smoking doesn’t only affect the lungs; but it also has negative effects to other parts of the body. An extremely scary fact is that, smoking has a tremendous effect on the skeletal system. The bones make our every movement possible but slowly, it increases the risk of fracture while decreasing bone density and the body’s rate of natural way to heal itself.

Smoking brings about so many negative effects physically. Help a friend from acquiring a grave sickness in the future.

Recently, you decided to quit smoking but dread the uphill battle. What are the effects of quitting smoking that you may enjoy? Find one reason in this article to motivate your desire in giving up smoking.

According to American Cancer Society, the first 20 minutes after you stop smoking, your blood pressure and heart rate return to normal. The carbon monoxide level in the blood starts to drop. This improves your circulation. The next 24 hours, the risk of developing heart attack drops. Following 48 hours, you can smell and taste better. The mucus in the lung starts to clear up. After 1 year, your risk of coronary heart disease declines by 50% as compared to a smoker. By 10 years, your risk of dying from lung cancer equals that of non-smokers. Your heart disease becomes non-threatening at the end of 15 years. It will be as though you never smoked before. Stop the effects of toxic chemicals building up in your system by deciding NOW to cease smoking cigarettes.

When you quit smoking, you add more years to your life. In 2002, Donald Taylor, an assistant research professor of Duke University conducted a study on how quitting smoking can affect life expectancy. Surprisingly, he found that when 65-year old female smokers quit, their life expectancy increased to almost four years. Those who give up smoking at 35 years old could live longer by up to eight and one-half years. If you like to know how smoking affects your life span, check this interactive tool at http://health.yahoo.com/topic/smoking/motivation/tooldoc/healthwise/popup/calc013;_ylt=AvUr9MU33lh0bVmh7g_q44HCtcUF.

Even though your family members or friends don’t smoke, the passive smoking can endanger their health. Experts agree that second hand smoke can cause cancer. A study showed that non-smokers exposed to secondhand smoke faced a higher risk of lung cancer by 18 to 32 percent than those not exposed. The risks increases in proportion to the duration of exposure. Think about it, if you stop smoking now, you can save the lives of your family.

Saving money may be the right kind of motivation for you. Calculate how much you can save in a year. With that savings, reward yourself with something special such as a vacation. Don’t let your money go up in smoke.

Being addicted to nicotine puts you out of control of your life. The effect of nicotine binds your freedom. By giving up smoking, you can be free from nicotine. If you smoke heavily, you may need help such as nicotine replacement therapy and Zyban to end your addiction.

Don’t pass up these favorable effects of quitting smoking. Find one good reason to say no to tobacco products. Consult your doctor for smoking cessation programs that can help you to get rid of this smoking habit.
